MILWAUKEE – Wisconsin’s favorite winter places are all finally opening – including the “Slice of Ice” at Red Arrow Park’s outdoor ice skating rink in downtown Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee County Park System announced the ice skating rink will officially open to the public on Friday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m.

The rink is also hosting “Season Opening Celebration” this day as well from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Skate rentals will be free and there will be free beverage samples from Pepsi and free hot chocolate from Starbucks, while supplies last.

The outdoor ice rink is a major winter attraction in downtown Milwaukee and is open through February or March, depending on the weather. The 128-by-95 oval ice-sheet can accommodate up to 100 skaters at a time.

Skating admission is always FREE to the public. Skate rentals are available in the Red Arrow Park Warming House during open skate hours for a small fee.
