MILWAUKEE — Donate your extra Halloween candy to the troops or other good causes.

Dentists across the area are participating in a candy buy back event. They will purchase candy for $1 per pound, up to five pounds per person, and send it overseas to military personnel.

The Dental Professionals of Germantown will host its 8th annual candy buy back event Friday.

Grafton Orthodontics will also participate in the candy buy back event, according to a Facebook post. The candy will be sent to troops through Operation Gratitude.

Village Dental in Brown Deer is hosting a Halloween candy buy back event on Nov. 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All candy received will be donated to the Milwaukee VA Medical Center, according to a Facebook post.

You can donate candy directly to the troops by sending it to Soldiers' Angels or Operation Shoebox.

Additionally, the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Milwaukee are accepting candy donations. The candy is given to people in their meal program throughout the holidays.
