As Santa Claus embarked on his journey around the world, families embarked on a journey to Mitchell International Airport on Christmas Eve.
It's a Christmas of firsts for some families who have never been together for the holiday. For others, a first time in a long time they've seen each other.
"It's the first time in about 10 years we've seen him," said Jessica Gumieny as she waited for her grandfather.
Not surprisingly, it was a tearful reunion.
Gumieny was just one of several families TODAY’s TMJ4 spoke with who reunited at the airport and were looking forward to solid family time and good food.
