CEDARBURG, Wis. -- One Wisconsin community is receiving national recognition for its "Christmas Spirit."

Cedarburg has topped the Readers Digest's list of "10 Small Christmas Towns with the Most Holiday Spirit"

The story calls the Wisconsin town "enchanting" and "like a Norman Rockwell Painting come to life."

Reader's Digest chose Cedarburg based on all of the holiday traditions offered like: Santa's workshop, 5K Santa Dash, and Festive Friday Eves.

Reader's Digest also noted the decorated windows and Christmas lights on Washington Avenue throughout the holiday season.

Washington Avenue, which runs through downtown Cedarburg, is popular for its old buildings, enticing shops, art galleries, coffee houses, cozy pubs and restaurants.

Other towns that made the list include: Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Corning & Hornell in New York, Leavenworth in Washington and Geneva in Illinois.
