Milwaukee bell ringers have returned for three more days to collect donations with the Red Kettle Campaign.
On Tuesday, a former kettle worker threatened bell ringers at knife-point. To protect the workers, 40 red kettles were put on hold. On Wednesday, they were back and ready to continue working toward their campaign's goals for the remaining days.
The Red Kettle Campaign is a huge fundraiser for The Salvation Army. This Christmas season's goal was to raise $3.8 million. So far the campaign has brought in $2.2 million. The bell ringers stop collecting on Dec. 23.
This campaign provides donation support for several programs in Milwaukee County. To name a few, donations go toward Feed The Kids summer meals program, Coats for Kids, a Christmas Family Feast, and The Salvation Army Toy Shop.
To help them reach their goal, you can donate to the cause.
