MILWAUKEE -- Throwback Thursday at Summerfest means old jams and special offers.
On June 28, all beverages, excluding ice cream drinks and smoothies, will be 50 percent off from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Throwback concerts will also take place during the day from artists such as The Posies, Matthew Sweet, Alient Ant Farm, Lit, The Crystal Method, Sugar Hill Gang ft. Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio Furious 5, The Ides of March with Jim Peterik, The Buckinghams, Cryan' Shames, New Colony Six, Shadows of Knight and The New Power Generation.
Throwback Thursday is sponsored by Pick 'n Save, so in return, the chain is offering free tickets to customers.
Pick 'n Save customers will receive four free Summerfest tickets valid for Throwback Thursday for every $50 they spend at Pick 'n Save locations from May 9 through June 12. The offer will be printed at the bottom of the store receipt and must be redeemed in person at the Summerfest ticket windows at the entry gates. The limit is 12 tickets per transaction.
President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. Don Smiley says the Throwback Thursday ticket promotion was added to the lineup in 2017 and proved to be very popular among festival-goers.
"Throwback Thursday is a nod to nostalgia and celebrates the rich musical history of Summerfest," says Smiley.
