PORT WASHINGTON -- Port Fish Day is the world's largest one-day outdoor fish fry and it returns to Port Washington on Saturday, July 21, 2018.

In order to be fully prepared for the event, here are the six things you need to know:

  • What Port Fish Day is- Port Fish Day is a non-profit charitable organization which organizes a yearly festival at Wisconsin's Port Washington Harbor. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for area civic organizations to raise money they use to support their individual missions.

  • What organizations are supported by Port Fish Day- VFW Post #7588, Port Washington Yacht Club, Port Washington Rotary Club, Port Washington Kiwanis Club, Port Washington Lions Club, St. Peters and St. John XXIII Men's Club and Ozakee Lodge #17.

  • What is allowed and NOT allowed at Port Fish Day- Umbrellas, strollers, disposable cameras, small cameras and small bags or purses are allowed at the festival. Due to safety and restrictions, bicycles, skateboards, and pets, other than service animals, are allowed on the grounds.

  • What's on the menu- Simply put, fish. But there are other tasting treats across the festival. Chicken tenders, chips (fries), cheese curds and an assortment of beer and non-alcoholic beverages are available as well.

  • The Port Fish Day 2018 Art Design Contest- Portal Industries announces their annual contest for artists to create the artwork that will be used for the Fish Day Run/Walk as well as be used for other Port Fish Day promotions. The individual submitting the winning design is invited to serve as Junior Parade Marshal for the Fish Day Parade on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in downtown Port Washington.

  • How you can start the celebration early- There is a Friday night carnival on July 20, from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. The carnival will have rides and a variety of food. You will need a wristband which will cost you $20, but you will receive free rides all night long.
