Before you head to the lakefront for the fireworks Monday night, be sure to check the traffic.
Here are a few closures you should keep your eye on.
The northbound lanes of I-794 over the Hoan Bridge will be closed at 8 p.m. at Careferry Drive prior to the fireworks. When the show starts at 9:30 p.m. all lanes of traffic on the bridge will be closed. After the display, the southbound lanes of I-794 will reopen to traffic.
Access to the I-794 East at the Marquette Interchange will be closed to all traffic except buses.
McKinley Marina parking will be restricted to those with parking permits or business at the marina.
Traffic headed south on Lincoln Memorial Drive must take I-94 or head south on the Hoan Bridge.
Westbound Michigan and Clybourn Streets will be closed after the fireworks.
Lincoln Memorial Drive will be closed once all lots are full, which in prior years was as early as 5 p.m.
Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies may need to divert traffic leaving the area to ease the expected traffic flow.
