(NBC News) A popular dating app is expanding it's mission away from romance.
Bumble has added a "BFF" feature to accommodate the growing number of people using dating apps to make non-romantic connections.
"People wanted to use it for friendship finding, so we thought why not make it a formal part of the app," says Bumble's Shaden Abboushi.
Similar to the dating part of the app, users can swipe through profiles to find matches and send messages.
Bumble also has a "Bizz" feature for business networking.
