A priceless piece of jewelry was stolen during a burglary in Dodge County last week and authorities say it may be connected to a string of break-in's.

Nancy Kiefer lives in an old farmhouse in the Village of Theresa, that's been in her family for four generations.

On May 5, she says someone broken through her antique door and took any piece of valuable jewelry they could find.
"It's gone everything is really gone," Kiefer said. "Grandma's ring, my rings, my wedding rings that I wanted to keep."

Kiefer had just returned from watching her oldest daughter, Ann Reed, get married. She left her wedding rings at home for fear of losing them on the trip.

Now, they're in the hands of thieves.

"All the fun we had was taken away," said Kiefer. "Everything we saved for the kids, gone you know."

Kiefer's husband died from cancer seven years ago. She only has one photo of her wedding rings, she says they are gold bands with several rubies.
"He couldn't afford a diamond so he bought me a ruby," she said. "Diamonds, we looked at them but his job, he worked on a farm, he was a farm hand and couldn't afford it."

According to the Dodge County Sheriff, this burglary is one of several they are investigating in the area within the last couple of months. He says they have dedicated a lot of resources to the case and that potentially the crimes are connected.

Nancy's daughter says they just want her mom's rings back.

"It's all she has," said Reed. "It's a memory of my dad."

Reed started a GoFundMe page to help her mom during this time.
