MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Bucks Center Thon Maker made sure dozens of local families will have a Thanksgiving meal this year.

He partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and Sentry Foods to provide turkeys, store gift cards and other dinner essentials to 100 local families.

"I wanted to get out there in the community and find a way to start it off by giving back," he said. "This was perfect timing. Thanksgiving is the best time to do it just to show that you're thankful."

The families met Maker at the location on 92nd and Lisbon where he handed out the food and gift cards.

Bucks forward Khris Middleton also hosted a Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee volunteers and their children.

He served 20 mentors and their matches a meal followed by a meet and greet.

The Bucks will be on the road for Thanksgiving. Maker says they will likely have a team dinner.
