WAUKESHA-- A badly burned cat named Hot Rod has been adopted after a months-long recovery with the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha.

Hot Rod was found abandoned on the side of a road in Waukesha with severe burns on his paws and abdomen, back in July. He underwent intensive treatment and was then placed with a HAWS foster home.

Hot Rod went through several medical procedures before he was able to be put up for adoption, near the end of September.

It didn't take too long for someone to come and scoop him up, with HAWS sharing that he was officially adopted this week. Hot Rod's new mom's name is Catherine, and both dog and owner look happy to be going home.
