MADISON, Wis. - Packers head coach Mike McCarthy spent time with kids Monday at the American Family Children’s Hospital.

McCarthy tells TODAY'S TMJ4's sister station WISC-TV that even though this is his eighth year visiting the kids, he still feels some butterflies before visiting with patients.

"It's really personal to walk into their space in a very difficult time. It's something you're able to connect with the families and try to relate to. I get nervous each and every year and I'm nervous right now,” McCarthy said.
There was also some time to talk football. Rookies and veterans will be practicing together for the first time this week. McCarthy is confident in his rookie class so far.

"It's still helmets and shorts as we all have to remind ourselves but it's a very good rookie class,” McCarthy said.

He also previewed his annual golf outing next month.

The fundraiser for the children’s hospital starts June 11 with a celebrity diner and fundraiser at Monona Terrace. The golf tournament is June 12.
