20-year-old Richard Root from Oshkosh has been arrested and charged with a felony count of physical abuse of a child for allegedly physically abusing his infant daughter, according to Oshkosh Police.
The father took the 2-month-old to Aurora Hospital last Friday. Due to the extent of the injuries, the baby was transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
During the investigation and medical treatment, it was determined that the 2-month-old sustained at least 20 broken bones, which included injuries to the ribs, legs and arms. These injuries were in various stages of healing.
The child also had multiple brain bleeds and bruises about the face and head.
The child has since been released from Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee and is with a family member. The man was taken to jail for physical abuse of a child. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash.
