While many voters feel this election has been full of negativity, a woman in Franklin brought a few smiles to voters at the polls with her outfit.

Nicole Hermann said she always chooses to vote on Election Day. For her, it's tradition.

"Just the excitement of seeing everyone here just voting together," she said. "You have the option to do it before, I just think it's so exciting to be around all the people and that anticipation, the feeling of what's going to happen."

On this Election Day, Hermann decided to break out several patriotic accessories for her trip to the polls, including a handmade hat decked out with ribbons and sequins and  a scarf featuring the American flag.

"I got this about 15 years ago, my hat, from my mom and I always wear it Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day," she said. "I thought this morning, Election Day is the perfect time to wear the red white and blue."
