MILWAUKEE -- A woman and two children were injured after being hit by a drunk driver going the wrong-way in the Marquette Interchange early Sunday.

The two vehicles collided at approximately 4:30 a.m. on I-43 north near Wells Street. The freeway was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck was initially found pulseless and not breathing. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said she had to be extricated from her vehicle. She was later resuscitated and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The two children that were in the vehicle that was struck remained restrained in booster seats and did not appear to have serious injuries, but were also taken to the hospital.

The 36-year-old drunk driver, who did not have a valid driver's license, blew .14 on the scene.
