TOWN OF MAPLE GROVE -- A helicopter pilot died after his chopper went down in Manitowoc County on Wednesday.
The incident happened at approximately 10 a.m. near 19420 Marquette Rd. in the Town of Maple Grove.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department says the pilot was the only one on board and was helping install transmission lines.
American Transmission Company says the helicopter, owned by Rotor Blade, was stringing wire along one of its lines between the Point Beach Nuclear Plant and the Forest Junction substation. ATC says Rotor Blade is a subcontractor for Henkels & McCoy.
