A Milwaukee firefighter sought in connection with child porn charges was arrested Friday in Montana.

Robert Rutley, 44, is charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

On Feb. 10, the FBI Milwaukee Division's Child Exploitation Task Force executed a search warrant at the Milwaukee Fire Department Engine House #29 on the 2500 block of South 84th Street.

Authorities say a forensic review of evidence seized during the search prompted the charges against Rutley.

Rutley fled the area, but FBI officials determined he was in Montana.

The Montana Highway Patrol took Rutley into custody Friday following a traffic stop in Big Horn County.

It’s not clear when Rutley will be sent back to Milwaukee.

TODAY'S TMJ4 spoke with one of Rutley's neighbors, who asked only to be identified by his first name, Dave. He said the reality of his neighbor facing charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography really hits close to home.

"I mean, my kids roam and ride their bikes," Dave said "I even let them go around the block. They probably went around next to [Rutley's] house."

The Milwaukee Fire Department confirms Rutley is currently on paid suspension, and MFD plans to conduct its own internal investigation separate from the FBI.
