A disturbing incident in Milwaukee has neighbors concerned. A family reached out to TODAY’S TMJ4, saying their small dog was attacked and killed by a neighbor's pit bull.

The family is devastated. They say they just let their dog outside to enjoy the weather, and it wasn't long before their Hershey Bar was viciously attacked. Revay Wright says it's a shame.

"I just knew it, we took him to the vet and there was nothing they could do for him. Messed up, messed up, it's hard," said Wright.

It happened Tuesday afternoon and Wright said the pit bull broke through a fence into the backyard.

"He had my dog under the brush in his mouth," said Wright.

"Pit bulls, they have those death grips they call them," said Wright.

And the situation is killing his family on the inside.

"He was family to us," Wright said.

TODAY’S TMJ4 went over to ask his neighbor Guillermo about the incident. Guillermo says after police were called, he was ticketed. He also says the city is giving him 30 days to fix his fence. He tells TODAY’S TMJ4 he just moved into the home and he was already in the process of fixing it.

Besides that, Wright says Guillermo’s dogs shouldn't be running free anymore.

"It's on them to fix that fence, it's not capable of holding nothing anyway. For any and everybody that have dogs, regardless of what kind of dogs you have, always make sure your dog is maintained because you just never know," said Wright.

Guillermo also added he has to go through a training program through the city's animal control commission. He plans to fix the fence in three weeks.
