Since winter seems to be suspended, the city of Milwaukee feels it's only natural for winter parking rules to also be suspended.

Mayor Tom Barrett announced Monday that winter parking rules are over effective immediately, even though they would usually extend until March 1.

“As I was making my fourth ‘y-turn’ trying to find a place to park, I thought ‘why in God’s name do we have winter parking restrictions when it’s 65 degrees out?’ Somebody should do something about this,” Mayor Barrett said.

The mayor did this once before, suspending winter parking rules around Christmas in 2014. Soon after, winter hit Milwaukee hard. Thankfully, that’s not in the forecast this year (so far).
