MILWAUKEE -- A plurality of Wisconsin voters disapprove of the job President Donald Trump is doing as president, according to a new Marquette University Law Poll.

Forty-one percent of Wisconsin voters approve of Trump, while 47 percent disapprove.

Trump's strongest support comes from the Milwaukee market, excluding the city itself, according to the poll. Within that demographic, 48 percent approve while 42 percent disapprove.

Although this is the first time the poll has measured Trump's job approval, comparing to his past favorability rankings can provide context, Poll Director Charles Franklin argued.

On that front, Trump's favorability has improved since the last Marquette poll. In October, his favorability was rated at 33 percent, nine points lower than his current approval rating.

The polls' margin of error is listed at +/- 4.4 percent.
