A man died Friday morning during sloppy weather conditions after hitting a fire hydrant and pole in his truck.

It happened at the intersection of 12th and Center in Milwaukee.

The victiim's truck flipped over and was resting on its side after the crash. He was partially thrown from his vehicle.

The powerful weather creating a miserable morning commute, flooding roads and turning some parking lots into ponds.

"It was terrible. It sounded like rocks hitting my window early this morning," Lynn Ortiz said. "I heard the thunder and I looked outside and the whole ground was covered with hail stones."

Up north in Plymouth,  the plows were out early. The slushy rain snow mix started coming down early and coated the roads.

"I'm traveling to Appleton tonight. I know it's snowing up that way. I'm going to give myself some extra time," said Samantha Mattek.

After a stretch of unusually warm weather,  it appears winter is back in full force here in Wisconsin.
