If you plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a few green beers, there are a couple of options to get you home safely.

Again this year, the Milwaukee County Transit System is partnering with MIllerCoors to provide free bus service on St Patrick’s Day starting at 6:00pm Friday until the end of regular service.  Since 1994, nearly 800,000 Milwaukeeans have taken advantage of the Miller and MTCS free rides service.

Also, the Milwaukee Tavern League encourages you to use its SafeRide program that it offers 365 days a year through more than 100 participating bars and restaurants in the Milwaukee County.

Here's how it works: If a person is unsure whether to drive, they can ask a server or wait staff for a SafeRide. A cab or another ride service will be called, and the customer will be provided a $25 voucher to help pay for the ride home.  Businesses have posted signs indicating that they participate in the program.  More than 85,000 people used the service during 2015.
