MILWAUKEE -- The FBI has identified a Milwaukee man who they say is responsible for three area bank robberies and is currently on the run.

25-year-old Davonte T. Amos escaped custody when FBI agents executed a search warrant at a home in the 9700 block of W. Lisbon Ave. Wednesday morning, the FBI says.

Amos is wanted for three robberies:

  • Wells Fargo Bank, West Allis, May 9
  • Pyramax Bank, West Allis, May 31
  • Oostburg State Bank, Oostburg, July 26

"The public is urged to use caution, the subject is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If sighted, please call 911 immediately," a news release from the FBI says.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at the West Allis Police Department at 414-302-8000, or the FBI Milwaukee Division at 414-276-4684.

The FBI says there is a reward being offered for information that leads to Amos' arrest and conviction.
