MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- DirecTV customers in Wisconsin will soon be seeing a $4.25 refund.

The cable provider agreed to a settlement after customers complained about price increases and early termination fees not being properly disclosed.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection announced the settlement Tuesday.

DirecTV must also start providing written notice to customers of price increases and information about how to cancel services without incurring early termination fees.

The settlement includes customers who were affected by price increases to their television services and were subject to early termination fees between 2010 and 2017. Eligible customers will see the $4.25 listed on an upcoming bill as "WI Settlement Credit."

A spokesman for AT&T, which owns DirecTV, did not immediately return an email.
