Planning to get away this Memorial Day weekend? You won't be alone.

More than 755,000 drivers in Wisconsin are expected to pile into cars to get to their holiday destinations. Low gas prices are helping fuel what is expected to be one of the busiest Memorial Day weekends on record.

You are paying about 8 cents a gallon more right now compared to last week. But AAA Wisconsin says look on the bright side - compared to last year, the price at the pump is still about 50 cents per gallon cheaper.

That means more drivers on the road, and across the country, AAA says 38 million people will travel this weekend. 34 million of those are getting there by car.

Lower airfares are also tempting travelers this weekend. If you're planning on flying to your destination, the best advice is to get there early. Long security lines and a crush of crowds are already being reported.
