A bicyclist has died after being struck by a semi truck, the Waukesha County Sheriff confirms.
A 59-year old New Berlin man died after his bicycle struck a semi truck Monday afternoon, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident occurred around 3:08 p.m. along Watertown Road and Redford Blvd., according to authorities, who said the intersection was closed for hours.
The bicyclist was traveling westbound on Watertown Road and traveled into the path of the semi as it was making a right turn, officials said.
The 66-year-old male truck driver was the sole occupant of the semi.
The Wisconsin State Patrol will be assisting the Sheriff’s department with the investigation.
