28 high school football teams across Wisconsin are aiming for a state title. Eight of them will clash in WIAA quarterfinal contests where TODAY'S TMJ4's Friday Football Frenzy cameras will go.
Here's where we're heading to Friday, with all kickoffs 7 p.m. (Game coverage subject to change):
Division 1: Arrowhead at Oconomowoc
These two teams are a combined 21-1. Arrowhead has had its struggles in recent weeks, but blew out Sun Prairie last week in the second round, 41-0. Oconomowoc has spent its year mainly blowing teams out with its offense, but Madison Memorial challenged them before an Oconomowoc victory, 33-23.
Division 2: Brookfield East at Homestead
East, 10-1, had its archrival Brookfield Central take it to overtime before the Spartans prevailed 34-31 in the 2nd round. 9-2 Homestead also had a conference clash, dominating Cedarburg 29-6 to raise its record to 9-2.
Division 2: Waterford at Waukesha West
10-1 Waterford had trouble shaking Union Grove in a second-round game before prevailing 28-20 in the WIAA second round. West, at 9-2, shut down and shut out Wilmot in its second round game, 28-0.
Division 3: Waukesha Catholic Memorial at Kewaskum
Memorial, at 9-2, nearly shut out Evansville/Albany in its second round game, 42-8. Undefeated Kewaskum has only allowed two teams to score in double digits the last nine weeks - each of their playoff wins.
