MILWAUKEE -- Wauwatosa mothers Amber Regan and Julia Burns learned their proposal to create a school called "Pathways High" is still in the running for the project. It was created by the widow of Steve Jobs, called "XQ: The Super School Project." The term 'XQ' is essentially the hybrid version of 'IQ.'
The idea is to throw everything you know about school present day out the door. The winner of the challenge will receive millions of dollars to create a school that will help prepare students for the real future we see forging ahead of us.
Regan and Burns shared the "open concept" building that would consist of about 100 students. Current Wauwatosa students had input in the design, the mothers told us on TODAY'S TMJ4 Live at Daybreak Sunday. They are now in the semi-finalist stage.
The effort came off of an inspiring documentary based off the book called "Most Likely to Succeed." You can watch the first ten minutes of the documentary here. They are offering a free viewing Wednesday, May 4 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wauwatosa West High School. They recommend you register at this link.
