A popular Wauwatosa Restaurant caught fire Monday afternoon and will now likely be closed for several weeks.
The Wauwatosa Fire Department says Red Dot suffered “moderate damage” in the fire, that started at about 2 p.m.
"I had somebody come around the corner and said 'hey, fire next door,'" said Martin Beaudoin, one of the owners of Red Dot.

"On a scale of fires, it could be worse," said Beaudoin.
The restaurant and bar were closed at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Beaudoin says they're hoping to reopen in a few weeks.
"I was so upset," said Nickie Gerboth, who says her son's school planned on holding a fundraiser at the restaurant in a couple of weeks. Plus, she says they love to eat there as a family.
"We live in the neighborhood, we’re just a couple blocks down," said Gerboth. "It’s so easy to just wander down, have a drink, have some appetizers and wander back."
Beaudoin says the initial cause appears to be electrical but they are still waiting on the full investigation. Damage estimates are still being reviewed.
"I’m pretty sure different parts of the world, there [are] people having a worse day than me that’s for sure," said Beaudoin. "Nobody got hurt, it’s minimal damage, we’ll rebuild. We’ll come back strong."
