SHEBOYGAN -- An unusual break-in was caught on camera inside a steakhouse in Sheboygan.

Jake's Roundabout Steakhouse had an unwanted visitor around 4 a.m. on Saturday.

A 24-year-old Grafton man was captured by surveillance cameras wandering around the restaurant.

But the thief doesn't get away with cash -- instead, he makes a big mess.

The video shows him going behind the bar. He dumps several bottles of liquor into a garbage can but then throws the rest on the floor.

He damages the restaurant's slot machines and takes all the food out of the coolers inside the kitchen.

"As soon as I walked into the kitchen, I seen all the coolers were propped open, meat was on the counter.  All the steaks were taken out, spoiling the meat, " said Curtis Hinz. The owner of  Jake's Roundabout Steakhouse

At some point during the break-in, it appears the guy must've been hit by hunger pangs.

"He turned on the grill in the back. He cooked himself a steak,  and then he sat down at the bar because down there we found his plate, fork, knife everything," said Jacob Hinz, the owner's son.

Jake's is a family-owned restaurant. Hinz said the restaurant will be closed for several days to clean up the mess. He said the damage is more than $30,000.

The 24-year-old suspect has been arrested for Burglary and Felony Damage to Property. According to the Sheboygan Police, a citizen tip led to the identification of a suspect. With the help of the Grafton Police Department, members of the Sheboygan Police Department were able to serve a search warrant at the suspect’s home, taking him into custody.
