About 200 volunteers with City Year, a nonprofit that helps students succeed, transformed the halls of Hopkins Lloyd Community school into bright colored murals and inspirational quotes from Civil Rights leaders.

“It teaches our students whatever your dream is, you can reach your dream,” said Natosha Harris, principal of Hopkins Lloyd Community Schools.

In the crowd of volunteers was Xavier Goode, he came out today to inspire the next generation just as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. inspires him.

“If you see it you can believe it. That seed is being planted to see there furnishing that could happen at a young age,” said Goode.

Goode hopes that when the kids see the pictures of leaders they will believe they too can achieve success at the highest level.
