Lawyer: Slenderman stabbing suspect on medication

Lawyer says girl has early-onset schizophrenia

WAUKESHA -- After more than a year of requests, the lawyer for one of the Slenderman stabbing suspects says she's finally being medicated.

Morgan Geyser is charged with stabbing her friend to please a fictional online character, nearly two years ago.

Prosecutors say Geyser and Anissa Weier plotted to kill a classmate and stabbed her 19 times, in order to please the fictional character Slenderman.

Geyser's attorney, Anthony Cotton says up until this January, Geyser had no medication for her diagnosis of early-onset schizophrenia.

He believes her symptoms are now diminishing.

"Her mom on Friday described Morgan as ‘the Morgan we all knew before the incident,’” Cotton said.

Geyser's attorney is appealing a judge's decision to keep her in adult court.

He expects the court of appeals to make a final decision soon.
