The Racine Zoo is welcoming Ayubu, an eastern black rhino male, to the zoo's Land of the Giants area.

Zoo officials say Ayubu will arrive in just a few days from the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kansas. They say Ayubu will be quarantined for at least 30 days before the public will be able to see him in an exhibit.

According to the zoo, male eastern black rhinos are often solitary animals who thrive on their own, so he won't be paired with another rhino.

The 5-year-old rhino is being moved as part of the recommendations from the AZAs Species Survival Plan.

Zoo officials say eastern black rhino males are most known for their impressive horns, which can weigh over 6 pounds and exceed 50 inches in length.

Eastern Black Rhinos are critically endangered in the wild, with numbers dropping from around 70,000 in the 1970s to about 1,650 today.

A heartwarming show of support rolled through Racine County this weekend as dozens of trucks, cars and motorcycles lined up in Union Grove for a 2-year-old boy facing open-heart surgery.

Easton, a big fan of trucks and cars, was treated to his own parade before he goes into isolation ahead of his procedure. The community also stepped up by donating toys and books to help him through his recovery.

After doctors found a serious heart defect, Easton's family has been bracing for what is ahead, leaning on their faith and a community that is stepping up in a big way.

"Once they kind of found that out, there's really no other option than open heart surgery," Andrew Darienzo said.

Darienzo said what started as a simple social media post turned into a full parade with people coming from across Wisconsin and beyond, including first responders, car clubs and complete strangers.

"The community is huge here... knowing a lot of people have our back during this tough time," Darienzo said.

Organizer Caitlin O'Malley of the Party Girls Pinups nonprofit group helped bring the event together to give Easton a special day.

"We're hoping just to give him a really happy, fun day, his own little parade before he goes into isolation before the surgery," O'Malley said.

"Any chance to do good in the community, I would rather do. I'd rather bring light and joy to the world," O'Malley said.

For Easton, the moment was all about joy before the hard days ahead.

"He's gonna have a great day... he doesn't know what's coming... so really just for him to enjoy his time before we have to... go through the hard stuff," Darienzo said.

The search continues in Racine for Lasheky Hill, who went missing three years ago on March 26, 2023.

"Lasheky was the life of the party. Lashesky has a lot of potential. Lasheky was funny. She was the glue to our family," said Georgia Hill, Lasheky Hill's mother.

She was last seen on Douglas Avenue, one day before her birthday.

"For this to just happen and her to disappear in thin air, that doesnt sit right with me," Georgia Hill said.

On Friday, Lasheky Hill's family gathered to celebrate her 49th birthday.

"Its not the same without my sister being here. It's not the same," Lasheky Hill's sister Tanicka Farrington said Friday.

Her family is remembering Lasheky Hill's smile, her kindness toward others, and big personality, as they continue to search for answers.

"She showed me how to always keep going, like no matter what," Lasheky Hill's son, Raymond Massie, said.

While her mother does not believe she is still alive, the family is committed to the search for answers.

"My hope for the investigation is they bring my child, whats left of her, to me, so I can lay her soul to rest," Georgia Hill said.

Three years later, the Racine Police Department continues to investigate Lasheky Hill's disappearance and asks for the community's assistance.

"With the investigation, we are at a standstill, really. Weve done all of the search warrants, searching, physical searches, and interviews. Anything that you can think of, weve done," RPD Deputy Chief Jessie Metoyer said.

Metoyer, who oversees the department's investigative division, told TMJ4's Lauren Sklba on Thursday that there is no specific suspect in the case.

"We cannot make any arrests at this time or make a positive determination on what happened to Lasheky," she said.

According to Metoyer, the biggest hurdle to finding Lasheky Hill is a lack of information.

"I know that there are people in this community who know what happened to her that night," Metoyer said.

The department is again encouraging anyone with information to reach out.

"It may be the smallest thing, and you might not think that its relevant to the case, but if you can remember anything around that time, either prior to her going missing or in the days following, that may be exactly what we need," Metoyer said.

The sentiment is echoed by Lasheky Hill's family as they continue to remember and hope for their loved one to be returned to them.

"We ain't never going to stop looking for her, no matter what," Massie said.

"Im still coming, but this time Im bringing somebody with me, Im bringing God with me," Georgia Hill said.

A 39-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Racine Wednesday night, police say.

39-year-old Benjamin Scott was operating the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries and was transported to Ascension and then flown to Froedtert Hospital for further treatment. The department was notified on Thursday by the Racine County Medical Examiner's Office that Scott had died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old, stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

STURTEVANT, Wis. A call to law enforcement reporting an emergency situation in Sturtevant late Friday morning was determined to be a false report or "swatting" call, the Racine County Sheriff's Office says.

Deputies were first called to Highway 11 and 99th St. in Sturtevant at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, when a caller claimed there were "numerous explosives," hostages, and at least three people dead in that location. The dispatcher also reported hearing screaming in the background of the call.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office, along with multiple other agencies, responded to the area. They couldn't find any victims or any signs of criminal activity.

"The Racine County Sheriffs Office takes all such reports seriously due to the potential risk to public safety and the significant resources required to respond," a statement from the sheriff's office says. "Swatting incidents divert critical emergency resources from real emergencies and place a heavy burden on law enforcement and first responders."

A spokesperson for Amtrak sent the following info:

train to St. Paul was delayed and two of our

trains between Milwaukee and Chicago were canceled and replaced by chartered buses until the tracks were reopened. Residual delays tonight."
