Drill teaches first responders how to act in mass casualty situation

Training in light of mass shooting in Orlando

MILWAUKEE -- Recent terror attacks such as the one in Orlando made this drill seem all too real for doctors and nurses.

The Medical College of Wisconsin trained them on what to do in a mass casualty situation on Tuesday.

In this scenario, actors wore makeup to appear they were the victims of an explosion.

"I think a lot of our health care providers and a lot of our volunteers here are realizing the importance of this training, and how important it is for all of us in the community, academic, private public to all work together and be coordinated," Dr. Jason Liu, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine for the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Doctors and nurses throughout Wisconsin took part in this two-day event.
