SOUTH MILWAUKEE — The iconic bronze "Crusher" statue, built to honor South Milwaukee native and iconic wrestler Reggie “Da Crusher” Lisowski, was vandalized in late August.

A South Milwaukee Police Department investigation discovered surveillance of two men who approached the statue and started throwing bricks at it.

Police identified the two men in the video as an 18-year-old and a 21-year-old. One of the suspects, 18-year-old James Dudgeon, has been arrested.

The statue became a reality through donations from hundreds of local wrestling supporters. It was unveiled on June 8th at the annual "Crusherfest."

I would like to thank everyone who supported the efforts to celebrate the achievements of 'The Wrestler Who Made Milwaukee Famous,' and build this statue. I also want to thank the South Milwaukee Police Department for their hard work in bringing these turkeynecks to justice. Da Crusher Foundation will aggressively pursue criminal charges against any person who attempts to damage or deface the statue. The statue, like the man himself, will stand strong.
Chris Smith, city attorney for South Milwaukee
