Some of the cases that they have been working on lately involve billing problems with phone companies and medical providers, as well as debt collectors who are slow to make corrections. They have also been working on a lot of cases involving claims issues with insurance companies and contractors who are not finishing jobs. When a complaint comes in, Call 4 Action volunteers listen to both sides and try to mediate a resolution. These volunteers are experts at cutting through red tape and getting to the right people who can help get something resolved. When they are unable to get resolve a case, they can also provide education and good resources of where to turn next.
Some of the most recent successes include getting over a thousand dollars back for a consumer who could not get a company to refund an overcharge. But, a lot of cases are not necessarily about money, but getting businesses or agencies to communicate and work with consumers to fix problems. Call 4 Action has also had success in getting collection agencies to correct mistakes, getting contractors or landlords to fix things, and get lines of communication going in a positive direction.
