MILWAUKEE — MaskUpMKE, an initiative working to assemble and distribute face masks, has donated 2,1000 masks to the Department of Public Works.
The initiative has already assembled and distributed nearly 1.5 million masks, with a goal of hitting 3.5 million.

This week, MaskUpMKE gave 2,100 masks to the Department of Public Works.
“MaskUpMKE has been a fantastic collaboration between organizations in different sectors all coming together to support the community,” said Common Council President Cavalier Johnson. “We are all in this together, and this partnership truly embodies that mantra. I want to thank all the partners and volunteers who have contributed to this effort.”
The initiative will be delivering masks through May 23, however they are no longer requesting volunteers. The donations they have already made, though, are are a great effort to keep employees and citizens safe.
“The health and safety of our staff is always the top priority, and the contribution from MaskUpMKE will help us maintain our safety standards,”said Laura Daniels, Director of Operations for the Department of Public Works. “The donation of these 2,100 masks will prove invaluable for our front-line employees who have continued to serve throughout this pandemic.”
