Between the lightning and rain pouring down last Friday night, the Bradley Tech Trojans pulled off a double overtime victory, so they earned the right to be called this season's first Frenzy Team of the Week.

“Being my first year as a head coach and getting a win like that in double overtime against a really good team and their quarterback was phenomenal,” recounted Head Coach Scott Flood.  “He was making plays on defense along with being their offensive guy running and throwing the ball around.  It was quite a first game to have as my first one.  I'll never forget.”

“I was so happy,” expressed Senior Tackle and Center Maurice Haynes.  “I felt like I wanted to cry because some of these people are freshmen, so you know they got it together and we pushed.”

Tech pushed and ran.  Senior running back Tenaj Robinson-Bowens, who also plays linebacker, had the play of the game on the very first series.  Robinson scooped up the botched snap and ran it 75 yards for the touchdown.

“I grabbed the ball and picked it up and we were running, just running, running to the end zone,” he described.  “Tuck the ball and run.”

But it wasn't all easy.

“We learned that we have to do more conditioning because we were a little tired, so we have to keep running and running just to be ready for the rest of the season,” Robinson-Bowens said with a chuckle.

“We were burning like my legs were burning,” Haynes added with a smile.  “Everyone was so tired but you know what, we pulled through and we got it together and we won.  That's all that matters… It's so fun to be a Trojan and I don't want to leave this team ever to be honest.”

Congratulations, Bradley Tech High School.
