The cell phone video of a Bay View High School Teacher’s Aid pushing and holding-down a student, has gotten national attention.

Today’s TMJ4 has learned that on the same day that altercation happened, two girls at Thoreau Middle School got into a vicious fight. Cell phone video shows a teacher trying to break it up.

Concerned parents say something has to change.

“These kids need discipline,” says Dennis Strahota, a Bay View father. “Obviously they’re not getting that at home. These kids are spitting on teachers, pushing them, kicking them, punching them. How much can these teachers take?”

“This fighting has to stop,” adds Jeannie Berry-Matos, a Milwaukee mother. “Our children are screaming for help.

We have to do something different, and it starts at home with parent involvement.”

According to Milwaukee Public Schools, disciplinary action will be taken against the two girls who got in a fight at Thoreau Middle School. And the Bay View High School Teacher’s Aid could lose his job.
