MILWAUKEE -- 22 different sculptures will be installed along Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee this summer, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported Tuesday.

The Business Journal, a partner with TODAY'S TMJ4, reports that the installations will be highlighted by a Santiago Calatrava statue, the same artist who designed the Art Museum's iconic "wings.

The display will stretch from O'Donnell Park at the lakefront to N. 6th St. The project is being led by Marcus Corp. chairman Steve Marcus, the Business Journal says.

“We appreciate the combined efforts of the city of Milwaukee, Milwaukee Downtown BID No. 21, private business owners, and many others to make this urban public art installation a reality,” Marcus said. “Sculpture Milwaukee will attract global attention, showcasing Milwaukee’s revitalization and rich cultural history in the art world.”

The sculptures will be on display from June 1 to October 22. Installation will begin in mid-May, and will include work from local artists as well.
