Report names Milwaukee as one of the worst U.S. cities for Valentine's Day

MILWAUKEE -- Personal finance website WalletHub has some bad news for Milwaukee: According to their recent study, it's one of the worst cities across the United States when it comes to celebrating Valentine's Day.

Overall, Milwaukee was ranked 92nd out of 100 major cities when it comes to the holiday of chocolates and flowers.  On the bright side, the Brew City did beat out communities like Philadelphia, PA (95th), and Detroit, MI (99th).

How did our city rank so low?

The study took four key dimensions (with 15 total metrics) into consideration: Valentine's Day budget, activities, accessibility, and weather forecast.

As you may have guessed, Milwaukee's weather forecast score wasn't very high, but its lowest score across the four key dimensions was actually when it came to the number of activities available (including restaurants, cafes, and nightlife).

So you can still have a romantic Valentine's Day this weekend - it just might not be as easy on your finances as it is elsewhere across the nation. At least now you have a fun icebreaker to share with your partner over that candlelit dinner.
