The former choir director at Brookfield Central High School was sentenced to three years in prison for stealing nearly $50,000.

Police said Phillip Olson started taking money from the choir department in 2010. He said he used to gamble and pay off credit card debt.

Eventually, an assistant superintendent noticed a number of deposits missing from the student activity account.

Olson was arrested back in April 2015, but wasn’t charged until last September.
